CALL OUT FOR ACTS!
Since our formation in 2012 we have focused on accessible theatre and projects addressing social issues.
We are looking to expand our focus by working with various homeless charities to help raise awareness and funds for this important issue.
The next project is series of fundraising events to be held in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter at St Pauls Church, the Blue Orange Theatre amongst others from the 17th July – 2nd August 2020.
We are looking to raise money and awareness for Crisis and the incredible work that they do. Click here to check out all the incredible work done by crisis.org.uk
We are looking for acts to take part. If you are able to help out please get in touch.
Homelessness can affect anyone at any time. There are a multitude of causes and a such there is no simple solution. We can however tackle and beat this issue if we work together!
There are social causes of homelessness, such as a lack of affordable housing, poverty and unemployment; and life events which cause individuals to become homeless.
People can become homeless when they leave prison, care or the army with no home to go to. Some women (and men) find themselves homeless having escaped a violent relationship.
People can become homeless because rent payments or bills become too much to manage, after finances causes huge social anxiety which can result in people shutting down.
And for many, life events like a relationship breaking down, losing a job, mental or physical health problems, or substance misuse can be the trigger. Being homeless can, in turn, make many of these problems even harder to resolve.
